STAFF REPORT <br />TO: <br />FROM: <br />DATE: <br />RE: <br />Mayor Fischer and Members of the City Council <br />Chris Heineman, City Administrator <br />May 10, 2023 City Council Workshop <br />Little Canada Fire Department Annual Update <br />ACTION TO BE CONSIDERED <br />No Action Required <br />BACKGROUND <br />The Little Canada Fire Department (LCFD) provides an update to the City Council on an annual basis <br />regarding the prior year’s operating expenses, incident report, statistical information, staffing, capital <br />improvements, and any anticipated budgetary issues for the upcoming year. Fire Chief Don Smiley <br />and representatives from the LCFD will be in attendance at the City Council workshop to address these <br />topics and answer any questions you may have. <br />The Little Canada Fire Department is organized as a private non-profit corporation and contracts with <br />the City of Little Canada for operational funding. I have attached a copy of the City of Little Canada’s <br />current (2023) contract with the LCFD. Fire Chief Don Smiley has also provided a workshop agenda <br />and several attachments for your review. Please let me know if you have any questions or would like <br />any additional information prior to the meeting.
