E,G999/PR-23-7 <br /> <br />Dear Mr. Seuffert: <br /> <br />Northern States Power Company, doing business as Xcel Energy, submits to the <br />Minnesota Public Utilities Commission this Informational Filing pursuant to the <br />Commission’s March 23, 2011 ORDER ESTABLISHING FRANCHISE FEE FILING <br />REQUIREMENTS in Docket No. E,G999/CI-09-970. <br /> <br />The electric franchise agreement with the City of Little Canada is set to expire on <br />August 26, 2023. Pursuant to Section 2.6 of the City’s Electric Franchise Ordinance, <br />the agreement will remain in effect until a new franchise agreement has been agreed <br />upon, but no later than one year after expiration of the 20-year term, which effectively <br />means no later than August 25, 2024. Accordingly, the existing City of Little Canada <br />electric fees are extended to August 25, 2024. <br /> <br />Section 2.6 of the electric franchise agreement states: <br />2.6 Continuation of Franchise. If the City and Company are unable to agree on the <br />terms of a new franchise by the time this franchise expires, this franchise will remain in effect <br />until a new franchise is agreed upon, or until 90 days after the City or Company serves written <br />Notice to the other party of its intention to allow the franchise to expire, but in no event shall this <br />franchise continue for more than one year after expiration of the 20-year term set forth in Section <br />2.1. <br /> <br />We include the following attachments in this filing: <br />Attachment A Little Canada Electric Franchise Agreement <br />Attachment B Tariff Sheet <br />
