STAFF REPORT <br />TO:Parks & Recreation Commission <br />FROM:Bryce Shearen, CPRP, Parks & Recreation/Community Services Director <br />DATE:January 5, 2023 <br />RE:Pioneer Park Stormwater Reuse Project Presentation <br />ACTION REQUESTED <br />Motion to support moving forward with the Pioneer Park Stormwater Reuse Project Assessment. <br />BACKGROUND <br />Jennifer Koehler, PE, Senior Water Resources Engineer from Barr Engineering, and Paige <br />Ahlborg, Project Manager from Ramsey-Washington Metro Watershed District will be giving a <br />presentation at the Commission meeting discussing the Pioneer Park Stormwater Reuse Project <br />Assessment. <br />A grant was received through the Clean Water Fund to perform a county-wide assessment to <br />identify potential opportunities for stormwater reuse for irrigation. Pioneer Park was a top site <br />identified and is within the Ramsey-Washington Metro Watershed District (RWMWD). They are <br />now looking at the possibility of implementing some of these opportunities with the funding for <br />design and construction provided by RWMWD. <br />The presentation will discuss the assessment that was done, the project scope, and potential next <br />steps. <br />STAFF RECOMMENDATION <br />Staff recommends the Commission discuss the potential project and recommend moving forward <br />with the potential project.
