STAFF REPORT <br />TO:Parks & Recreation Commission <br />FROM:Bryce Shearen, CPRP, Parks & Recreation/Community Services Director <br />DATE:May 4, 2023 <br />RE:2023 Projects <br />ACTION REQUESTED <br />None. Information update to the Parks and Recreation Commission. <br />BACKGROUND <br />Along with the day-to-day operations of the Parks and Recreation Department, there are over <br />two million dollars identified in park projects this year. Below is a table of the highlighted <br />projects with estimated completion dates. <br />Project Est. Completion <br />Veterans Memorial War Dog Statues May 2023 <br />Wood Fiber Playgrounds June 2023 <br />Pioneer Park Soccer Field Sand Injections June 2023 <br />Gervais Mill Trail Project Closeout June 2023 <br />Park Entrance Signs July 2023 <br />Bike Racks July 2023 <br />Spooner Park Electrical Upgrades July 2023 <br />Picnic Table Replacement July 2023 <br />Dog Park Site Furnishings August 2023 <br />Pioneer Park Solar Trail Lights September 2023 <br />Thunder Bay/ Westwinds Habitat Restoration September 2023 <br />Pioneer Park Play Node **October 2023 <br />TB/WW Trail Extension October 2023 <br />2023 Highlights of Projects <br />** The majority of the work for Pioneer Park is anticipated to be completed in 2023, but the <br />project will most likely go through a walkthrough in early 2024 and not be officially completed <br />until then. <br />Each fall, staff presents the Capital Improvement Plan (CIP) for the Parks & Recreation <br />Commission to review. The full document is available online at <br />www.littlecanadamn.org/551/City-Budget-CIP. <br />Staff will bring forward the CIP at the next meeting for the Commission to review and will also <br />be an opportunity to discuss projects identified over the next ten years and discuss some potential
