Little Canada History <br />•At the 25 Jan 2017 City Council meeting, group asked to <br />discuss allowing chickens within the City. <br />•“Done quite a bit of community outreach” <br />•17 Feb 2017 Staff Report has emails, info packet, etc. <br />regarding this issue. <br />•Email sent on 18 Sept 2016 from Amanda Gutierrez outlined her <br />disappointment on how the handling of this issue was at the <br />“meeting” by Council <br />•Email sent on 12 Sept 2016, 10/13 Jan 2017 opposed the chicken <br />ordinance <br />•Historically, more residents were for rather than against <br />adopting the chicken ordinance. <br />•Elko New Market provided draft Chicken <br />Regulations/Ordinance <br />•Council Member Gutierrez Suggestions/Questions: <br />•Max of 6 chickens; more depending on parcel size <br />•No requirement for approval from neighbors <br />•“What does fenced yard actually mean?” <br />•Coop set back in yard? <br />•Rear yard requirement; placed on side yard?
