Towhom hmay concern,
|amwriting toexpress rnyconcerns about the reopening nfthe Hookah Hideout. Ever since the
council voted unanimously to revoke their license, the atmosphere at Thunder Bay Strip Mail has
changed for the better. Mycustomers have expressed feeling safer, the business owners and
employees of the strip mail have also shared how they feet safer. There has been no vandalism or car
break-ins, the parking lot looks so much cleaner, and many residents from the Mayfield have
complimented the air quality and smell. Word isgetting around that Thunder Bay strip mall isnot the
place for underage children topurchase tobacco anymore, Since their license has been revoked, vve
have received numerous attempts of underage customers trying to purchase hookah and tobacco, and
when they are told they will not be served, they state they were able to purchase from the Hookah
Hideout.
The number one concern for our community should bethe safety ofresidents and visitors. Time and
time again, it has been proven that this is not a safe business to be operating in the city of Little
Canada. | understand thatmaymeanspendingmoneyioenourethesafetvof the community, but |
believe itwill beworth itinthe long run.
There is a petition signed by a majority of the business owners in Thunder Bay Strip Mall, along with
several residents and patrons, to keep the Hookah Hideout out of Little Canada. These signatures
were only collected over a couple of days following notification of the City Council meeting. If there
was more time, | believe there would bemany more signatures, Please donot bebullied into reissuing
a license to an establishment that every member of the council voted to revoke.
The city of Little Canada is a much safer, cleaner, and reputable community without the Hookah
Hideout.
| appreciate your time,
OwnVr-LhtleCanadaSmukeShnp
