RAMSEY COUNTY PARKS AND RECREATION COMMISSION <br />WORK PROGRAM <br />SHORT-TERM (less than one year) <br />o BICYCLE TRAILS <br />Work with Department staff, staff of the Ramsey County Public <br />Works Department, and Ramsey County municipalities in developinc <br />a County-wide bicycle trail plan. In 1992, the Commission <br />forwarded a proposed network of County-wide significant bi.cyc?.e <br />trails to the Public Works Department for incorporation into the <br />Comprehensive Transportation Plan. The Public Works Department <br />expects to prepare the Comprehensive Transportation Plan, <br />including bicycle trails, in 1994. The Commission will provide <br />ongoing input to the Public works Department. <br />FOUNDATION/PRIVATE FUNDING/CORPORATE PARK PARTNERSHIP PROGRAM <br />The Commission will continue to work on establishing <br />partnerships with corporations located in close proximity to <br />County and regional parks. <br />COMMUNICAT20N WITH OTHER COMMISSIONS <br />The Commission will continue to promote interaction and <br />communication with municipal parks and recreation commissions <br />through joint meetings and sharing of meeting agendas and <br />minutes. An effort will be made to meet with parks and <br />recreation commissions within municipalities where significant <br />park improvements are anticipated in the near future. <br />REGIONAL RECREATION OPEN SPACE <br />Participate in efforts to secure legislative support for the <br />regional park system and funding of the regional parks and open <br />space within Ramsey County (capital/operations and maintenance) <br />AMENDMENT TO GRASS-VADNAIS LAKES REGIONAL PARK MASTER PLAN <br />Participate in discussions with the St. Paul Water Utility <br />Commission and representatives from the city of Vadnais Heights <br />regarding incorporation of the Sucker/Vadnais Lakes area into <br />the master plan. <br />-1- <br />
