JLA~F-23-1994 1948 FROM ST-PHUL-PRRKS-REC TO
To: Little Canada Park Commission
From: itesident Tennis Enthusiasts
Re: Ftesurfadng of Spooner Park Courts
Date: June 17,1994
94844538 P.02
As taxpayers and recreation enthusiasts residing in the City of Little Canada, we feel the
surface condition of the Spooner Park teams courts is unacceptable Not only are they
dirty and need to be leaned (leaves and debris), but also the asphalt mating needs to be
resurfaced. This process did take place over 3 years ago costixtg the city over $3,500.1)Q
Howevei, die cYintractox- did ant, prep and dean the surface properly resulting in patches of
~~$ ~•Ped o~ o~y months later.' The contractor was not held liable as heshould have
been and supposedly claims no responu'lidity.
Unfortunately, we as players are subjected to sub-standard playing conditions. We feel this
problem should have been already rectified when the problem occurred at no cost to the
dty. Now it will be hard to attract players to any proposed tournaments and tennis sodas
events. Keep in mind too that these marts are lighted and are much more utilized than
the newer Pioneer Courts (which were omstructed by the same contractor who resurfaced
the Spooner courts). _...
Yotia~ assistance in this matter would be greatly appredated especially since there is
considerable interest with taking pride in our community facilities.
C ~i~
~~~
C~
v
a
~~
M~' • f~ '111~J'1 ~ w((~~
t •.
