MAYOR & CITY COUNCIL <br /> <br />Overview <br />Composed of five elected officials, the City Council meets the second and fourth Wednesday each month to <br />consider adoption of legislative and administrative measures to provide services to citizens. They also meet <br />monthly in workshops for an in-depth discussion of other potential actions to be taken. <br /> <br />Service Areas <br /> Debate and adopt local ordinances and policies <br /> Governance <br /> <br />2022/2023 Departmental Accomplishments <br /> Completed updated Strategic Plan <br /> Utilized Strategic Plan for Council decisions <br /> <br />2024 Departmental Goals <br /> Continue to utilize the 5-Year Strategic Plan as a guide for future Council decisions <br /> Enhance strategic partnerships with existing and other organizations that advance the goals and <br />strategic initiatives of the City of Little Canada <br /> <br />Budgetary Commentary <br />The 8.73% net increase in this budget relates to anticipated increases in membership dues and an increase in <br />travel, training and a $4,000 increase under Contracted services for Meeting Minutes which accounts for a <br />15.06% increase in the contractual services. The LMC Conference will be held in Rochester in 2024. <br />Memberships in this budget includes the League of MN Cities ($11,740), Association of Metropolitan Cities- <br />Metro Cities ($4,374), Ramsey County League of Local Governments, ($550), the St. Paul Area Chamber of <br />Commerce ($500), and the Municipal Mayors Association ($50). Contractual service includes the Tobacco <br />compliance services ($400) and Meeting Minutes ($4,000). Currently, $300 of the tobacco compliance services <br />are reimbursed by the State of Minnesota as a grant.
