<br />38 <br />4859-6924-4449\6 <br />10. Identifies and contacts prospective clients for location and expansion within the City. <br />11. Assists locating or expanding businesses in understanding and anticipating comprehensive <br />plan locations, zoning districts, standards and processes. Works closely with City <br />Planning, Building Inspections, and Engineering Divisions to help facilitate a smooth <br />review process. <br />12. Periodically reviews all economic development programs for effectiveness, making <br />recommendations to Authority and City officials for changes as deemed appropriate. <br />13. Participates in exhibitions, seminars, media events and the like to attract businesses to the <br />City. <br />14. Limited travel may be required to attend conferences, meet with prospective clients, <br />research potential problems, financing, etc. <br />15. Prepare annual budget and work program for submission to the Authority and City Council. <br />16. Provide quarterly and annual report to the Authority and City Council regarding status of <br />work program, future program potentials and activities of the staff. <br />17. Serves as chief staff support to Economic Development Authority. Prepares agendas and <br />background information reports for Authority meetings. Attends meetings of the <br />Authority, Chamber of Commerce, City Council, etc. and follows up staff responsibilities <br />as assigned. <br />18. Completes other duties as assigned by the Economic Development Authority. <br />KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES <br />1. Thorough working knowledge of the principles, practices and procedures of economic <br />development. <br />2. Ability to organize and coordinate support from professional and technical City staff, legal <br />consultants, other government agencies, private business, and the financial services <br />industry. <br />3. Ability to analyze the economics of a particular business location or expansion project, so <br />as to make independent judgments about the effectiveness of financial assistance or <br />inducements. <br />4. Ability to establish and maintain contacts and effective working relationships with <br />potential business clients. <br />QUALIFICATIONS <br />1. Bachelor’s Degree in Public Administration, Business Administration, or a closely related <br />field highly desirable.
