February 25, 1999
David D. Claypool, L.S.
Ramsey County Department of Public Works
50 West Kellogg Blvd., Suite 910
St. Paul, MN 55102
Dear David D. Claypool, L.S.:
SUBJECT: Gilanderi Addition
Site Plan Review P99-004
North of TH36 on West Gilanderi Ln.
Little Canada, Ramsey County
C.S. 6212
The Minnesota Department of Transportation (Mn/DOT) has reviewed the Gilanderi Addition plat.
We find the plat acceptable for further development with consideration of the following comments:.
We may require a drainage permit for the proposed project. Please submit drainage area
maps and runoff computations for the existing and proposed conditions. Provide one foot of
freeboazd above the 100 year high water level where the pond would overflow to Mn/DOT
right of way. Pond computations should be from the 100 year-24 hour storm. The Grasslake
Watershed Management Organization should have the opportunity to review drainage to
ponding area mentioned on preliminary plat drawing. Questions regarding Mn/DOT
drainage concerns may be directed to Martin Korthank at 651/779-5015. Questions
regarding the permit process may be directed to Keith Van Wagner of our Permits Unit at
651/582-1443.
No grading will be allowed on Mn/DOT right of way.
Mn/DOT's survey section has identified some discrepancies in the plat. The plat does not
adequately identify Mn/DOT right of way. Gilanderi Lane does not access TH36 as shown
on the plat. Gilandri Lane runs east/west along the Mn/DOT right of way. These corrections
should be made to the final plat. Please contact John Sutherland at 651/779-5008 for more
information.
An easement was granted on Mn/DOT's right of way just east of this plat for residential
traffic flow. This does not include access to TH36. Mn/DOT may widen TH36 in the future
and close this easement making Gilanderi a dead end. Room for a cul-de-sac should be left
in the southeast corner o t spat.
Page 52
