CITY OF LITTLE CANADA <br />COUNTY OF RAMSEY <br />STATE OF MINNESOTA <br /> <br />RESOLUTION 2024-4-52 <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING SUBMISSION TO THE FY ’25 <br />CONGRESSIONALLY DIRECTED FUNDING PROGRAM FOR THE LITTLE <br />CANADA COMMUNITY CONNECTIVITY PROJECT <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City is eligible to apply for Congressionally Directed Funding through the <br />offices of Senator Klobuchar, Senator Smith, and Representative McCollum; and, <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City of Little Canada’s Community Connectivity Project is a regionally <br />significant project and has already secured adequate funding to advance the project but funding <br />gaps still exist; and, <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Congressionally Directed Funding would help fill existing funding gaps that would <br />reduce the financial burden on the residents of Ramsey County and Little Canada; and, <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the planned intersection improvements would improve safety, reduce congestion, <br />and improve pedestrian connections through and adjacent to the Little Canada Road and Country <br />Drive intersection as well as the interstate I-35E interchange; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the proposed pedestrian bridge would improve community connectivity for non- <br />motorists to access the important destinations throughout the region. <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Little <br />Canada; that <br /> <br />1. The City of Little Canada supports an application to the FY ’25 Congressionally Directed <br />Funding program for the Little Canada Community Connectivity Project and authorizes <br />staff to prepare and submit such application; and <br /> <br />2. The City Council hereby commits to funding project elements not eligible for <br />Congressionally Directed Funding and ensuring the Project complies with <br />Congressionally Directed Funding requirements and timelines. <br /> <br /> <br />Adopted by the Council this 24th day of April, 2024. <br /> <br /> <br /> _____________________________ <br /> Thomas Fischer, Mayor <br /> <br />Attest: __________________________________ <br /> Christopher Heineman, City Administrator
