The applicant received PUD Permit amendments
in 2007 and 2008, however the improvements in those approvals were not all
completed.
A part of the previous approvals included the construction of a garage/storage building
at the western edge of the property, replacing the existing garbage enclosure in that
location. The applicant had, at the time, been storing materials in the garbage
enclosure, and storing dumpsters outside in the parking area. Recently, the applicant
sought permission to construct a garbage enclosure attached to the principal building.
That request was in process, however, the applicant is now proposing to attached the
enclosure to the existing detached accessory building in the northwest corner of the
parcel.
The proposed enclosure measures eight feet by 10 feet, constructed of rock-faced
concrete block to match the existing building construction, with a gate that would open
to the parking/drive access to the south. The proposed enclosure would have a roof
similar to that of the existing accessory building. .
The property is zoned PUD, and the City has typically applied I-P, Industrial Park zoning
standards to the buildings in this area. The applicant has provided drawings and details
of the enclosure, including a gate design. The gate is proposed to be constructed of
cedar, and appears to be a solid door. Although it does not enclose the entire opening,
the proposed gate should serve the purpose of covering the opening adequate, given its
south-facing orientation toward the applicant's parking lot area.
