Adult-use cannabis legislation <br />•Person’s residence <br />–Can grow up to eight plants –with no more than 4 being mature <br />–Flowering plants may be grown at a single residence as long as it is at the primary residence of someone 21 or older <br />–Plants must be enclosed, locked space that is not open for public view <br />Cannabis use <br />-Used by people 21 or older on private property, private residences and at places with approved licenses or an event permit (none available at this time) <br />-Cannot be used when operating a motor vehicle <br />-Cannot be used or possessed in: <br />Public schools, charter schools, school buses <br />State correctional facilities <br />In a location where the smoke, aerosol or vapor of a cannabis product could be inhaled by a minor <br />On federal property <br />•Other details <br />–Tax on cannabis product sales is 10% (in addition to standard state and local tax rates). Medical cannabis is exempt. <br />–Marijuana remains illegal under federal law <br />–First retail dispensary sales (except for tribal nations) are expected to begin in the first quarter of 2025
