CITY OF LITTLE CANADA <br /> <br />COUNTY OF RAMSEY <br /> <br />STATE OF MINNESOTA <br /> <br />RESOLUTION 2024-5-61 <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION APPROVING A DEED RESTRICTION TO THE <br />PIONEER PARK PROPERTY <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City of Little Canada received a grant from the Minnesota Department of <br />Natural Resources Outdoor Recreation Grant Program to fund improvements within Pioneer <br />Park; and, <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the grant agreement between the City and the Minnesota Department of Natural <br />Resources requires that any lands improved with assistance from this grant program must be <br />retained solely for public outdoor recreation use; and, <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the grant agreement between the City and the Minnesota Department of Natural <br />Resources requires a deed restriction be placed on the park property stating that the property <br />cannot be converted to any use other than public outdoor recreational use without the prior <br />written approval of the DNR Commissioner. <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Little <br />Canada; that the City does hereby impose the following contract restrictions on the property <br />described in Attachment A: <br /> <br />1. The property shall be permanently managed and maintained for public outdoor recreation <br />use; and <br /> <br />2. The property has been acquired and/or developed with Land and Water Conservation <br />Fund assistance and that it cannot be converted to other than public outdoor recreation <br />use without the written approval of the State acting through its Commissioner of Natural <br />Resources and the Secretary of the Interior. <br /> <br /> <br />Adopted by the Council this 22nd day of May, 2024. <br /> <br /> <br /> _____________________________ <br /> Thomas Fischer, Mayor <br /> <br />Attest: _________________________________ <br /> Christopher Heineman, City Administrator <br />
