MINUTES <br />CITY COUNCIL <br />MAY 89 2024 <br />COUNCIL REPORTS AND MEETING UPDATES <br />D. Miller commented that the Sap Run was a great event this past weekend and recognized the efforts <br />of staff, the volunteers, and the runners. He provided an update on the most recent North Suburban <br />Cable Commission meeting. <br />T. Miller commented on the Northeast Youth and Human Services leadership luncheon that was held <br />earlier in the day and thanked those that attended. She noted that donations are still be accepted for <br />those that were unable to attend. She stated that this Friday, RCLG has a Zoom meeting focused on <br />the purpose of watersheds. She stated that RCLG will also be rolling out its climate workgroup, of <br />which she is involved in. <br />Kwapick commented on the most recent meeting of the Little Canada Historical Society. He stated <br />that in relation to the pedestrian crossing mentioned earlier, he will be working with the historical <br />society to assist in telling the story in attempt to gain additional funding. <br />Gutierrez provided an update on the recent meeting of the Little Canada Fire Department focused on <br />long-range planning that she attended with Mayor Fischer. <br />Mayor Fischer commented that there are a host of capital projects for not only the fire hall, but across <br />the city itself. He stated that the City lacks a facilities maintenance person and perhaps they need to <br />consider adding that type of role rather than relying on multiple staff people to fill that gap when it <br />arises. He stated that last week he spent time with Yd and 41h graders to celebrate Arbor Day at <br />Spooner Park. He also commented on the success of the Sap Run and commended City staff for <br />volunteering their time at different City events. <br />The Public Works Director provided an update on the four-way stop that will be installed at Arcade <br />and Labore. He noted the flags and flashing lights that would be installed for the first few months to <br />alert drivers to the change. He stated that written notice was also mailed to properties in that area. <br />ADJOURN <br />There being no further business, upon motion by Mayor Fischer, seconded by D.
