MINUTES OF THE CLOSED MEETING <br />y CITY COUNCIL <br />LITTLE CANADA, MINNESOTA <br />FEBRUARY 11, 2015 <br />Pursuant to due call and notice thereof a closed meeting of the City Council of <br />Little Canada, Minnesota was convened on the 1 lth day of February, 2015 in the <br />Council Chambers of the City Center located at 515 Little Canada Road in said <br />City. <br />Mayor John Keis called the meeting to order at 8:52 p.m. and the following <br />members of the City Council were present at roll call: <br />CITY COUNCIL: Mayor <br />Mr. John Keis <br />Council Member <br />Mr. Tom Fischer <br />Council Member <br />Mr. Mike McGraw <br />Council Member <br />Mr. Rick Montour <br />Council Member <br />Mr. Christian Torkelson <br />ALSO PRESENT: City Administrator <br />Mr. Joel R. Hanson <br />City Cleric <br />Ms. Kathy Glanzer <br />OFFER TO The City Council went into closed session in compliance with State <br />PURCHASE— Statute to discuss a potential offer to purchase the City's property located at 56 <br />56 EAST Little Canada Road East. <br />LITTLE <br />CANADA McGraw asked if this property was in the original discussions relative to the <br />ROAD purchase of properties along Round Lake. The City Administrator replied that <br />the two properties immediately west of the railroad tracks were not in the <br />original discussions. The Administrator noted that of the properties that were <br />part of the original acquisition plan, there are two left to be acquired. <br />The City Administrator indicated that the property is currently listed at <br />$110,000, and reported that the appraisal that the City commissioned for this <br />property came in at $80,000. McGraw asked the cost of demolishing the <br />existing house. The City Administrator estimated that cost at $15,000. <br />McGraw asked why this property was necessary to the City. Keis noted that it <br />would extend the park property that lies between Little Canada Road and Round <br />Lake. Keis also noted the blighted condition of the property which would be <br />eliminated if the City acquires it. <br />Fischer suggested that a minimal offer be made for the property suggesting that <br />it is likely that only the City would be interested in purchasing it.
