<br />14 <br /> <br />System Performance: <br />Aurora, a solar production and design program, was used to estimate the energy production of the proposed <br />system. NREL weather station data for this area was used to simulate irradiance levels which is used to <br />estimate real-world production values. Actual energy usage was taken from the 12 most recent months of <br />utility data, provided by the city in its RFP. The following figures are for the main 21.17 kW DC proposed <br />system. <br /> <br />Figure 8: Monthly energy production and consumption of Fire Station 2 <br />System losses, including from snow cover, module mismatch, connections, light induced degradation, wiring, <br />soiling, and system availability were accounted for. Snow loss data was derived from real world historic data of <br />pitched roof systems installed in Minnesota collected by Apadana, with a summary of losses seen below.
