COUNT
Of RAMSEY
STATE OF MINNESOTA
OFFICE OF THE COUNTY ENGINEER
DEANE R. ANKLAN
November 2, 1976
1.1r. Joseph G. Chlebeck, Clerk
City of Little Canada
515 Little Canada Road
Little Canada, 1-1innesota 55117
Dear PIr. . Chlebeck :
Westwinds Addition
ASSISTANT COUNTY ENGINEER 502 COURT HOUSE
FLOYD N. SNYKER, JR. SAINT PAUL. MINNESOTA 55102
TELEPHONE 298-4127
The Ditch 7 cross section is adequate to handle 5 to 10 year flows. How-
ever, trees have groim up vrithin the ditcii in scattered locations, and these
should be removed to make the full ditch capacity available.
The culvert system beginning at Arcade and Labore consists of 30-inch sec-
tions of clay, concrete or corrugated metal pipe. The system has handled
-oast .flows and should be adequate for any increase because of Westwinds
development. However, as the upstream watershed of approximately 160 acres
continues to develop, the system may become inadequate for any flows of
greater than one or two year frequency.
The ponding area, recommended northeast of Arcade Street and Keller Parkway
is in Maple -wood and is identified as such in the 11 aplewood draina.E;e plan
(see enclosure). Construction of the pond could be coordinated by Little
Canada, Maplewood and Ramsey County-.
Yours very truly,
Deane R.
