Telephone 484-3353
February 2, 1976
Mr. Joseph G. Chlebeck
City of Little Canada
515 E. Little Canada Road
St. Paul, Minnesota 55117
Dear Mr. Chlebeck:
We understand the City of Little Canada has an existing 12 inch
water main on the east side of Rice Street south of Country
Drive. Shoreview does not have any water mains in this area
as of yet, however, there has been preliminary discussion as
to supplying this area with water. We have been asked by
Northwestern Bell Telephone Company a number of times for
municipal water. There are also some single family homes
in this area who also may want municipal water. Our closest
trunk water lines are quite a distance from this area and
in order to supply this area it would mean installing a few
thousand feet of trunk main.
There are approximately 60 single family homes and two or
three businesses including the Northwestern Bell Telephone
building in this area. If the City were to put in the
lateral mains, could or would Little Canada supply us water
for an indeterminate time? If that is not possible, would
Little Canada allow a temporary connection to the Northwestern
Bell Telephone building until Shoreview brought their mains
into this area? We would appreciate an early reply on this
matter.
If you have any questions, please contact me.
IR R
FES 4 1976
CITY OF
j;1TJL.E CANADA
JTN:mn
clerk's exhibit
Meeting 2-11-76
324
Very truly yours,
CITY OF SHOREVIEW
James
JaT.
