Clerk's exhibit no.
r
Meeting 6-9-76
To Whom It May Concern
We the parents of three goys and for safety reasons , we would like stop signs
put up at the corner at which we live. The corner is Arcade and Keller :'kwv, Right
now the side street',Arcade, has a vine way s*op.' rye have been living at our ?828
Keller Pkwv address for a little over a year and have had several bad accidents
in front of our house. Although no one has died as a result of the accidents
we hope we don't have to wait for such a thing to happenbefore something is done.
Ome day inparticular, our children were playing on a nice afternoon when i
heard a long squeel of tires, that lasted long enough for me to get to a window
and see a small foreign car flipping two or three times in midair with arms
hanging out of one side of the car. After it landed upside down, while I was calling
the police, I looked out again to see someone bending over someone ivinF, in the street.
I ,wasn't sure at the time if it wasmot one of alp boys or not. Later, I found outit
was the driver who had been thrown out of the taro we don't know how badly either one
of then were hurt, but we do know they were very lucky. Another time,a man lost control
of his car and severed off two electric poles at the base.
The police have said that cars just go too fast and loose control. We reall,
think that stop signs would slow people down. Our corner is very deceiving and
I see and bear cars squeel around the corner all day, some even bounce off the
trees and keep on going. In the summer time and on week -ends, ther is more traffic
and tbev tend to go faster. At County Road C and Keller Pkwv, there is a three
gray stop which works out very nicely and our intersection is just as blind of an
intersection as that one.
In addition to improving the safety for tl-e children, stop signs would reduce the
risk of two car collisions as two cars would have to run the stop signs simultan-
eously. The instances of both cars running stop signs would be rather rare, I believe. r
We feel this is an important matter because the neighborhood children are getting
