I1. 10.0
• D
STATE OF tw NESOTA
7EPARTMENT Mn DGT-Highway-District 9
Oakdale
TO : ADDRESSEES
FROM : Gary P. Oriich )J.",qo"
Noise & Air -)uality Engineer
SUBJECT: S.P. 5280-202
I-35E in Little Canada
Noise Abatement Survey
0 f f ice Memorandum
DATE: February 3,1977
770-2311
The attached report is a summary of the results from a questionnaire
sent to residents of Little Canada. This questionnaire was mailed to
area residents following our public meetings which provided the public
involvement to the design of the project.
In viewing the report, please note that this survey is the first of a
two-step survey prccess as described on Page 1. This is similar to
the Fridley and New Brighton surveys '.which was conducted earlier this
year.
The basic purpose of this survey was to determine the extent that the
area residents took advantage of the public meetings. Gnly the first -
row households were notified on this project. The results suggest
that the meeting notification should possibly be expanded to second -
and third -row households in the future. Also, awe wanted to know what
advantages and disadvantages they anticipated from the barriers.
These will be compared to their responses in Step Two of the survey
process, which will be conducted after the barriers are constructed.
This survey is an attempt to evaluate our involvement program as well
as to gather information on the effectiveness of our noise barriers.
Please feel free to offer comments that could im_orove our overall
program.
Attachment
ADDRESSEES:
Joseph Chlebeck - City of Little Canada t/
C-E.Burrill•
M.H.Linzie
J.E.Sandahl
M.J.Gillen
P-M.Canner - G29D--
L.E.Foote
H.D.Juffer
Clerk's exhibit no.---------
Meet.nng-4-?3-77
