This is true of the castings which have their <br />grates parallel with the curb. When an injury occurs, the <br />municipality, township, county, etc., are sometimes defendents <br />in_a lawsuit for allowing these castings to remain. <br />We recommend that you inventory the catch basin castings on the <br />`.e streets and roads under your jurisdiction. Make a note of all <br />the castings that have their grates parallel with the flow of <br />bicycle traffic. Then we recommend that these castings be <br />replaced with ones that will correct this condition. In lieu of <br />this, we recommend that the existing grates be modified to <br />correct this condition. <br />Yours truly, <br />MILNER W.
