CONTRACT NO . METROPOLITAN ' C-OUNCIL Suite 300 Metro Square Building, Saint Paul, Minnesota 55101 SECTION 8 HOUSING ASSISTANCE PAYMENTS PROGRAM CONTRACT WITH MUNICIPALITY THIS AGREEMENT, entered into as of this day, the day of between the Metropolitan Council (hereinafter referred to as the Council) , and the City of Little Canada (hereinafter referred to as the City) . WITNESSETH: WHEREAS, the Council intends to undertake a program of subsidizing rent payments for lower income families and for the elderly to assist them in obtaining adequate housing, and WHEREAS, the Council has received funding from the United States Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) under a HUD Section 8 Housing Assistance .Payments Program Master Annual Contributions Contract (Master Contract) dated October 5, 1977 to act as a Public Housing Agency to implement this program.. arid WHEREAS,, the City has by resolution indicated its des -ire to participate in this program and to assist such individuals and families to obtain decent, safe and sanitary housing in the City at prices they can afford, and. WHEREAS, the Council desires to purchase certain necessary administrative services from the City in connection with carrying out the program, and WHEREAS, the Council is authorized to execute an agreement for the purchase of program services and to take all action specified or contemplated herein pursuant to Laws 19 75 , Chapter 13, Section 6, Subd . 3; Section 21, Subd . 1; and Section 24, and has all of the powers and duties of a housing and redevelopment authority pursuant to Laws 1975, Chapter 13, Section 24 under the provisions of the Municipal Housing and Redevelopment Act, Minnesota Statutes Section 462.411 to 462.711, and acts amendatory thereof; NOW, THEREFORE, in consideration of the mutual covenants and promises contained herein, the parties agree as follows: 1. Purchase of Service. The Council agrees to purchase and the City agree t, furnish the following services: a) Inspection .of housing units,, CLERK'S EXHIBIT N0. 19 - b) •Re -inspection of housing units; MEETING-1-i1-78 all as more specifically set out in Section 4 below.
