What is Geocahing?
Geocaheing is an outdoor treasure hunt that uses global positioning system (GPS) enabled devices
to allow participants to navigate a set of coordinates to attempt to locate a ‘geocahe’. Caches are
hidden items that are camoflauged from the public’s view. Geocaching is a family friendly activty that
can be enjoyed by expert or novice geocahers. Geocahing is a great way to discover new places and
spend time outdoors.
Little Canada Parks & Trails
Little Canada’s park system has 178 acres of public space, including 9 city parks, 1 county park, 2
school parks, and a nature area. Once at a park location, enter the coordinates into your device. Follow your GPS map to get
closer to the geocahce. Once you get within 300 feet the signal may start to waver. If this happens,
concentrate on the overall distance decreasing rather than following the arrows. Once you are close
(20 - 50 feet) begin to look around for where the cache could be hidden. The caches are located away
from main paths of travel, and will be somewhat secured within its hiding location. Some caches are
camoflauged to hide from public, so look carefully and have fun!
Geocache
Exploration
LIT TLE C ANADA
