CITY OF LITTLE CANADA <br />COUNTY OF RAMSEY <br />STATE OF MINNESOTA <br />RESOLUTION 2023-x-xx <br />RESOLUTION APPROVING THE COMPREHENSIVE PLAN AMENDMENT <br />AND AUTHORIZING STAFF TO SUBMIT THE PROPOSED AMENDMENT <br />TO THE METROPOLITAN COUNCIL <br />WHEREAS, the Minnesota Land Planning Act requires all metropolitan area communities, <br />when amending and updating their comprehensive plans to submit the plans to the Metropolitan <br />Council for approval; and <br />WHEREAS, the City initiated an amendment to the Sidewalks and Trails Map of the 2040 <br />Comprehensive Plan; and <br />WHEREAS, pursuant to Minnesota Statutes section 473.858, the proposed amendment was <br />submitted to adjacent governmental units and affected special districts and school districts for <br />review and comment on July 18, 2023 and the statutory 60-day review and comment period has <br />elapsed; and <br />WHEREAS, the Planning Commission held a meeting and reviewed the request on September <br />14, 2023. At that time, the Planning Commission recommended approval. The City Council <br />held the public hearing for this request at their October 11, 2023 meeting. Staff concurs and <br />recommends that the City Council approve the comprehensive plan amendment. <br />NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, the City Council of the City of Little Canada, <br />County of Ramsey, State of Minnesota, approves the 2040 Comprehensive Plan Amendment <br />and authorizes staff to submit the proposed amendment to the Metropolitan Council review. <br />Adopted by the Council this 11th day of October 2023. <br />Attest:
