Parking Lot Screening <br />The following requirements for the setback areas and interior portions of parking lots <br />complement the General Site Landscaping requirements shown in (E), above. <br />1. Perimeter Landscaping Requirements <br /> The views toward parking lots from public streets or residential areas shall be <br />treated with plantings and, possibly, earthen berms, fences or other methods. The <br />priority for planting locations shall be: <br />a. Parking lots adjacent to housing. Refer to See Sub-Section I, Buffers between <br />Different Zoning Districts or Land Use Intensities. <br />b. Between the public street right-of-way and the parking lot or the building <br />Refer to Sub-Section (2), below. <br />c. The interior of parking lots. Refer to Sub-Section (3), below. <br />d. Other parking lot edges. <br />2. Parking Lots Adjacent to Streets <br />a. Any parking lot adjacent to a public street for a commercial, industrial, <br />multiple-family residential, public or semi-public development shall have a <br />minimum planting strip equal to the required parking lot setback along the <br />street right-of-way; <br />b. For residential, commercial, public or semi-public sites, the landscaping shall <br />be designed to soften the views of parked cars from the street. In a traffic <br />safety visibility triangle, mature shrubs or ornamental grasses shall not exceed <br />30 inches in height This sub-section does not apply to I-2 zone. <br />c. Overstory trees (deciduous or coniferous) shall be provided at a minimum rate <br />shown in Table 15-2, Number of Overstory Trees Required, above. <br />d.
