809-8 <br />(E)Exemptions to Service. Exemptions will be allowed to the organized mixed <br />municipal solid waste collection program in the following situations. <br />(1)Residents who own a business or a rental property that is located within 25 <br />miles of the City of Little Canada. The property must have refuse <br />collection that the Little Canada resident is paying for and using for <br />his/her own residential refuse. The rental property must have at a <br />minimum a two (2) yard container for disposal service. A resident shall <br />apply for this exemption at the Little Canada City Center. The resident <br />will be required to show proof of property/business ownership and <br />payment of disposal every two years. The resident will still be required to <br />enroll in recycling and bulky item pickup services at contracted charges. <br />(2)Residents who own a business, but lease the business space. In this case, <br />the resident must provide the City with written permission from the <br />property owner that they are allowed to dispose of their residential refuse <br />at that location or provide evidence that they are paying for refuse service <br />directly with a refuse hauler. A resident shall apply for this exemption at <br />the Little Canada City Center. The resident will be required to show proof <br />of property/business ownership and payment of disposal every two years. <br />The resident will still be required to enroll in recycling and bulky item <br />pickup services at contracted charges. <br />(3)Residents who are out of town on vacation a minimum of one month. <br />Residents shall call the City directly to apply for this temporary <br />exemption. The City of Little Canada reserves the right to verify absence <br />through verification of water readings at any time during the absence. If <br />evidence shows water usage, the City will negate the temporary <br />exemption. <br />(4)An owner or resident of an existing residential property considered to be a <br />medium-density dwelling unit constructed before March 1, 2024, may <br />continue to utilize their existing licensed hauler provided there are no <br />zoning code violations related to the collection of solid waste or recyclable <br />materials. Owners or residents of an existing residential property <br />considered to be a medium-density dwelling unit constructed before <br />March 1, 2024, shall have the option to opt-in to receive service from a <br />licensed hauler(s) who has a valid contract with the City. <br /> (F)Subsidies to Service. The City of Little Canada will subsidize service in the <br />following situations. Residents must apply for these subsidies at Little Canada City Center. <br />(1)A subsidized cost of at-the-door refuse collection service for physically
