Chapter 916: Signs <br />Page 916-10 <br />23,001 to 24,000 195 25 <br />Above 24,000 200 25 <br />(4) The maximum sign height may be increased by one foot for each three feet <br />of setback in addition to that prescribed in Section 916.050.4.c.3 of this <br />Chapter, to a maximum of five additional feet in height. <br />(5) Actual sign height is determined from lot grade or averaged with the grade <br />of the road from which the sign gains its principal exposure. <br />(6) On parcels which have a common property line with the right-of- way of <br />limited access freeways, the maximum sign height shall be allowed to be <br />30 feet regardless of the building size. Sign area shall be as allowed by the <br />table Section 916.050.E.5.c.4 of this Chapter. <br />d. Roof Signs. Roof signs established prior to the effective date of this Chapter shall <br />be considered conforming signs in these districts if they comply with the <br />following provisions: <br />(1) The City Building Official conducts an inspection of the sign and finds it <br />and any sign structure to be in good condition and not to be endangering <br />the public health, safety, and general welfare. <br />(2) All signs on the subject site meet the general provisions, restrictions and <br />performance standards of this Chapter. <br />(3) For the purposes of this Chapter, roof signs shall be considered <br />freestanding signs, and shall be evaluated against the performance <br />standards for such signs. <br />e. Shopping center complex lots which contain freestanding businesses. In the case <br />of a lot or lots containing a shopping center complex which contains freestanding <br />businesses, one freestanding sign is allowed per freestanding business provided <br />that such sign is in conformance with all sign and setback provisions of this <br />Chapter. <br />6. PUD District: <br />Within a PUD District, a comprehensive sign plan shall be required which designates <br />the number, type, size, and design of all signs proposed for the PUD project. The <br />aggregate signage allowed by the PUD sign plan shall be the amount of signage which <br />would be allowed under 916.050 of this Chapter, based on the proposed uses within the <br />PUD and the zoning districts in which each use would be allowed, except as follows: <br />a. Each principal building within a PUD shall be allowed one freestanding sign. <br />Multiple tenant buildings shall be allowed a maximum of two freestanding signs. <br />Freestanding signs shall be subject to the regulations of Section 916.050.4.c of this <br />Chapter. <br />b. Comprehensive Sign Plans in the PUD District shall be processed as a part of the <br />PUD Development Stage application. In the alternative, an applicant in the PUD <br />District may request a separate Conditional Use Permit for a Comprehensive Sign <br />Plan at a later time, but prior to the display of any permanent business signage on <br />the property.
