MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING <br />PARKS & RECREATION COMMISSION <br />LITTLE CANADA, MINNESOTA <br /> <br />MAY 2, 2024 <br /> <br />Pursuant to due call and notice thereof a regular meeting of the City Council of Little Canada, <br />Minnesota was convened on the 2nd day of May, 2024 in the Council Chambers of the City <br />Center located at 515 Little Canada Road in said City. <br /> <br />Chair Howarth called the meeting to order at 6:30 p.m. and the following members of the Parks <br />& Recreation Commission were present at roll call: <br /> <br />PARKS & RECREATION COMMISSION: Delong Miller, Hipp, Horwath, Mui, Owens, <br />Schletty, and Williams <br /> <br />ALSO PRESENT: Parks and Recreation Director Steve Anderson, Public Works Director Bill <br />Dirks, Recreation Coordinator Sierra Heitala, and Community Relations Manager Laura Linehan <br /> <br /> <br />MINUTES <br />Commissioner Schletty made a motion to approve the April 4, 2024 Parks & Recreation <br />Commission minutes as submitted. Commissioner Mui seconded the motion. The motion was <br />unanimously approved. <br /> <br />OLD BUSINESS <br /> <br />PARKS AND RECREATION STAFF UPDATE <br />The Public Works Director welcomed and introduced the new Parks and Recreation Director <br />who comes from the City of Roseville and is a member of the Little Canada Fire Department. <br /> <br />The Parks and Recreation Director commented that he looks forward to working with the <br />Commission, noting that this is a great time as they look to expand their park and recreation <br />resources. <br /> <br />The Public Works Director reported that the Recreation Coordinator has provided her notice that <br />she will be leaving the City on May 17th, and the position will be posted for recruitment. He <br />thanked her for all the things she has accomplished in her time with the City. <br /> <br />Chair Horwath commented that the Recreation Coordinator will be missed as she has done an <br />amazing job in Little Canada. <br /> <br />NATIONAL VOLUNTEER WEEK RECAP <br />The Community Relations Manager thanked all the residents and members of the Commission <br />that participated in the different events.
