i~1INUTES <br />City Council <br />f4ay 279 1951 <br />Ntr, Forsberg reported that Kellogg High School i~ planxiing to hook <br />up to water frorn the watermain that runs along the raa.lroad tracks <br />on the Glasrud property, <br />Councilman r'ahey asked whero Kellogg would be assessed for watermain. <br />The ~;ngineer replaed that Kellogg would be assessed along llemont and <br />Yark Street except for the north 150 f'eet of Yark Street at the time <br />this unprovement would go in. <br />l~ir, Forsberg stated that the School presently has an ;~11,000 dei'erred <br />a,ssessment for sewer, but no assessment for water, <br />Mrs. Scalze expressed concern that some reszdents who are located on <br />Schletty llrive but hooked up to water from Little Canada itoad were <br />required to put money into escrow for future watermain assessments <br />on Schletty llra.ve. <br />t~rr, Fahey stated that iSe:llogg should be informed that if they hoox <br />up to the watermain siong the railroad tracks, they will still be <br />assessed for waterrnain improvement on Demont and Parx Streets when <br />such improveraent is put in. <br />Nlr. The <br />t~ngiz~eer stated that the xazlroad may also require a special insurance <br />policy to do this> <br />With regard to the L'ngineer~s recommended improvements, P+ir, Fahey <br />stated that he felt the Rice Street improvement was crib:ical, but <br />that the City shou].d not force water on anyone not wanting it, <br />`1'he Nx~gineer stated that the only reason he is bringing up Rice <br />Street is because of' the County bike paths that are planned for that <br />street, ~t wou:td be easier to put water in before the bike paths <br />went in. <br />Page -16- <br />
