MINUTES <br />City Council <br />October 14, 1981 <br />The City Attorney stated that he would have to agree. The Attorney <br />stated that once the City has granted a benefit, it cannot take it <br />away. However, it can be changed for new employees. <br />Mr. Forsberg commented that the only one that the new vacation schedule <br />would effect then would be Joe Steele. <br />forsberg also commented that the reason the vacation schedule was changed <br />was that when comparing with other cities of similar size that is the <br />schedule that they had. <br />The Attorney suggested that the Council rescind the resolut9on chang5ng <br />the vacation policy. <br />Mrs. Nardini introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: <br />RESOLUTION N0. 81-10-605 - RESCINDING RESOLUTION N0. 81-9-506 <br />SETTING Fl NEW ~ACATION POLICY FOR THE CITY'S FULL-TIME <br />F.MPLOYEES <br />The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Mrs. Scalze. <br />qyes (3) Nardini, Scalze, Hanson. <br />Nayes (1) Forsberg. <br />Resolution declared adopted. <br />This resolution appe~rs in Resolution Book No. 7, Page 393. <br />Mrs. Nardiniintroduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: <br />RESOLUTION N0. 81-10-606 - SETTING Fl NEW VACATION POLICY FOR <br />FULL-TIME EMPLOYEES OF THE CITY EFFECTIVE SEPTEMBER 30, 1981 <br />FlND WOULD NOT APPLY TO EMPLOYEES HIRED PRIOR TO SEPTEMBER 30, <br />1981, THE VACATION POLICY BEING TWO WEEKS VFlCATION AFTER ONE <br />YEAR OF EMPLOYMENT, THREE WEEKS VACFlTION AFTER EIGH7 YEARS OF <br />EMPLOYMENT, AND FOUR WEEKS VACATION AFTER FIFTEEN YEFRS OF <br />EMPLOYMENT <br />The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Mrs. Sca7ze. <br />qyes (4) Nardini, Scalze, Forsberg, Hanson. <br />Nayes (0). <br />Resolution dec7ared adopted. <br />This resolution appears in Resolution Book No. 7, Page 393. <br />Becker The owner of 6ecker's Outlet has appealed a recent Council resolution <br />Sign that approved the expansion of Peppino's with the stipulation that the <br />Appeal signs for Becker's Outlet and Cherette's Kitchen be removed from the <br />green area in front of the shopping center. <br />Mrs. Nardini stated that the Counci1 should not even be considering <br />the appea'~ as Mr. Becker was not present and did not appear at the <br />Planning Commission meeting. <br />Page -8- <br />
