Updated Agreement for Contract Law Enforcement and Public Safety Services <br />Draft Language for Request for Action <br /> <br />claim. The estimated revenue and appropriations will be included in the Sheriff’s Office <br />2025 budget. <br /> <br />County Racial Equity Impact <br /> <br />• The combined population of the Contract Communities is over 75,000 people, which <br />represents a diverse community. Once approved, this action continues to provide law <br />enforcement and public safety services with a commitment to community safety and <br />wellbeing. <br /> <br />• The Sheriff’s Office continues to advance racial and health equity through diverse hiring <br />practices, training (including diversity, crisis intervention, de-escalation, mental health, <br />and implicit basis), and service delivery, including robust community engagement. To <br />promote transparency and accountability for all, body-worn cameras are worn by <br />deputies serving the Contract Communities. <br /> <br />• Copies of the agreements between the county, the Sheriff’s Office, and each <br />municipality are posted on the Sheriff’s Office website. <br /> <br />County Community Participation Level and Impact <br /> <br />• The Sheriff’s Office regularly meets with the Contract Communities leadership team, <br />which includes city managers, city administrators, and the town clerk of each of the <br />municipalities. The Sheriff’s Office also attends city council and town board meetings as <br />well as workshops and commissioner meetings. <br /> <br />• The Contract Communities leadership team routinely receives feedback from their <br />elected governing bodies regarding the provision of law enforcement and public safety <br />services.
