Nardi,ni sup,gested that then perhaps as soon as this equ:i.pmenC <br />i.s paid for, the Ci.ty ,houl.d ~o to anoCher piece of equi.pment. <br />Mrs. Scalze stated that sY~e feels that when Che tructc ~i.s pa~Ld off i.n <br />fi.ve years, the Ci.ty should ap,ain set aside money. The Clerk suggested <br />that the amount be gr.cater Chan .P~10,000. Mrs. Scalze suggested that <br />in 198H a$30,000 r.eserve may not seem out of I.ine. <br />Mr. Porsberg sugp,ested that the I'ise I)epartmenC shoul.d Iceep on top of <br />thi.s. <br />Mrs. Scalze stated that i.n 19£34 the City's clebt ser.vice has qui.te a <br />decrease. Mr. Voto stated that ~vith thr equipment cerLificate that <br />clecrease wi.11 chan{;e to a$19,000 increase. <br />Mrs. Scalze expressed concern that the Ci.ty's trend of decreas:i.ng <br />mills ~oill, change. ~fr. Voto stat:ed that thi.s depends on the City's <br />valuation whi.ch also i.ncluctes new constructi.on and bui.ldi.ng permits. <br />Mrs. Sca12e stated that she was tryi.ng to anti.cipate the CiCy's mi17. <br />r,ate for the next two or three years. Mr. Voto repliect that he woulcl <br />anti.ci.pate Y.hat the mi.ll rate would go down even with the i.ncrease. <br />Mrs. Scalze poi.nted out Chat Y.he City has some water projects comi.ng <br />up for consi.der.ation this weel<. Mr.. Voto stated Chat the City Council <br />can have the debt service schedule updated to see the effects oL the <br />new projects. <br />Mr. I~'orsberg commented thaC Che City will also have to deal with the <br />issue of sf:reet repl.acement at some ti.me i.n the fature. C1rs. Scal.ze <br />stated that Che City will. have to assess for thi.s. Mr. Voto commented <br />that the City i.s probably talkin~; about a reassessment process and <br />a general. obligati.on assessment. <br />Mr. Ilanson ccmmeni_ed that i.n ttiaC case people livi.ng on a County road <br />are better off than those living on a Ci.ty road. <br />Mr. Porsberg stated Chat i.f t:he Ci.ty ~;ets State grant monies, h~~~ wouLd <br />Lilce to back of:f: on tax l.evi.es, Mr., Voto stated tltat that cari be done. <br />Mr. Hanson aslced if: the $45,000 >hould be put i.n the general. f.unct. <br />Mr. Voto replied that f:rom a finance person's viewpoint he would say <br />yes.
