MINUTES <br />Council Meeting <br />January 25, 1984 <br />Fire Mrs. Scalze introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: <br />Con Y.rac t <br />RESOLUTION NO. 84-1-50 - APPROVING THE <br />FIRE CONTRACT FOR 1984. <br />The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Mr. Forsberg. <br />Ayes (5) Hanson, Forsberg, Nardini, Scalze, Fahey. <br />Nayes (0). <br />ResoluY.ion declared adopted. <br />This Resolut.ion appears in ResoluY.ion Book No. 10, Page 54. <br />Paraqraph 3 of the Fire Contract will be changed to read "payable <br />quarterly". <br />Energy The Metropolitan Council has proposed a resolution auT.horizing them <br />ImprovemenY. to implement the solar bank deferred loan program within the City <br />Loans of LitYle Canada. <br />Mrs. Nardini introduced the following resoluY.ion and moved its adoption: <br />RESOLUTION NO. 84-1-51 - APPROVING ENERGY <br />IMPROV~MSNT LOANS FOR THE CITY OF LITTLE <br />CANADA. <br />The foregoing resoluT,ion was duly seconded by Mr. Forsberg. <br />Ayes (5) Hanson, Forsberg, Nardini, Scalze, Pahey. <br />t~ayes (0). <br />Resolution declared adopted. <br />This Resolution appears in Resolution Book No. 10, Page 55. <br />Nardini Mr. Bi11 Quirin, Chairman, LitTle Canada Sign CommitY,ee, appeared <br />Sign before T.he Council representing said Committee. <br />Commi tY.ee <br />Mr. Quirin presenT.ed the Council with a list of recommendat.ions <br />proposed at Y.he Siqn CommitT.ee meeting on Thursday, Sept.. 15, <br />1983. In regards to window signs it was recommended Y.hat since <br />it is almost impossible to measure signs, feasibility for securiY,y <br />should be considered rather than square footage. <br />The Council discussed the Sign Ordinance aY. lengYh with Mr. Quirin <br />and the Planner. The issues discussed were the violations Lo <br />this Ordinance by certain businesses in Little Canada and how <br />the law could be enforced. <br />Mr. Quirin comment.ed that most businesses in Lit,tle Canada are <br />small type businesses and siqns are their only way to compete. <br />Page II <br />
