Mr. Prattalone <br />stated that he was not opposed to having co wait for any reimUurse- <br />ment. Frattalone stated that he would have been satisfied with <br />not havi.n~ to pay the assessment. <br />The Clerlc reported that the assessments in the area were deferred~ <br />and once the li.ft station is installed, the assessments wi11 go <br />bac(c on. <br />Mr. I'orsberK aslced who wi.ll maintai.n the lif.t stati.on. Mr. Prattalone <br />replied that he plans to turn the street and lift stati.on over to the <br />City. T'rattalone pointed out that he pai.d an assessment for a sewer <br />that was no gooct to him. Prattalone stated tha[ i.f he did not hoolc <br />up to thi.s sewer, the oCher properties i.n the area could not devel.op. <br />Pahey suggested that the City come up with a f:i.gure now, rather than <br />making Mr. Frattalone wait f.or any compensation. <br />Mr.s. Scalze felt that any costs reimbursed T.o Prattal.one, the Ci.ty <br />should try to recoup. Scalze asked it the City cou7.d pl.ace an extra <br />connection charge on the building permit. The City Attorney replied <br />that the Ci.ty could do this. <br />It was suggested that the Ci.t:y insta).1 the lift stat~ion. Mrs. Scalze <br />poi.nted out that the City cvould have to have an assessment hearing <br />for these costs. Pahey felt i.t woul.d be cleaner to let Mr. Frattal.one <br />put in the Li.£t sT.ation. <br />Pahey also pointed out Chat the property owners did have the right to <br />appeal the assessment and they di.d not. L'ahey state,d ChaC he was not <br />sympathic to completely elimi.nati.ng the assessment. <br />Ranson commented that perhaps the City should pay the cost of the <br />lif:t stalion. Nardini questionecl why the City would want to do this, <br />when Mr. Prattalone i.s only aski.ng for the cost of the assessment <br />he pai.d. <br />S4r. Frattalone asked :if when the City charges a secoer assessment, <br />if i~ is the Cit.y's responsibility to provide sewer. The Attorney <br />repl.ied that this was not the case and reported that the City has <br />assessed property for se~aer that dict not get to the property. <br />Mr.. Fahey aslced Mr. Frattalone if he would be happy with rei.mbursement <br />of the assessment. Prattalone replied that he would 'ue. <br />Mrs. Scalze questi.oned what the City would tel7. people if. it <br />reimbursed the Prattalone assessment and not their's. <br />Pap,e -9- <br />
