Other Licenses and Permits Chapter 917 Application Reviews <br /> <br /> Page 917-29 <br />A permit is required before installing any new wall sign, freestanding sign, home <br />occupation sign, business banner or sidewalk sign. Signs for which a permit is not required <br />are listed in City Code Chapter 916. Those include public signs, identification signs not <br />exceeding two square feet, political campaign signs, temporary displays including holiday <br />displays, construction signs, real estate sale or rental signs, and on-premise directional or <br />informational signs not exceeding four square feet. <br /> <br />Permits and fees are not required for the repair of signs or sign structures. <br /> <br />Sign permits are issued by the City Clerk upon the review and approval of an application <br />provided by the Clerk and the payment of the fee, which is set by ordinance. <br />All regulations on the size, materials, location, duration and permitting of signs may be <br />found in City Code Chapter 916. <br />917.190 Other Licenses and Permits <br /> A license issued by the City Clerk is required for these activities: <br /> Adult uses <br /> Alarm systems <br /> Emergency vehicle sales – storage lot with ancillary outfitting services <br /> Fireworks <br /> Handicapped accessibility and mobility vehicle sales or repair <br /> Lawful gambling <br /> Licensing of tree removal contractors <br /> Massage therapy business and massage therapist licenses <br /> Mixed municipal solid waste and recyclable materials storage and collection <br /> Motor vehicle repair <br /> On-sale and off-sale liquor licenses <br /> Outdoor storage in industrial districts <br /> Pawn shops and pawnbrokers <br /> Public assemblies <br /> Rental housing licenses <br /> Solicitors <br /> Tattoo parlors <br /> Temporary outdoor sales or display <br /> Tobacco store and tobacco general sales and display licenses <br /> Used car sales <br /> Wagon vendor <br /> Wrecking and junking cars <br /> <br />917.200 Appeals <br />A. General Provisions and Standards <br />The purpose of this section is to provide for an appeal process when it is alleged that there is an <br />error in any order, requirement, decision or determination by an administrative officer or the City <br />Planning Commission in the enforcement of this Ordinance. <br /> <br />The City Council shall act as the Board of Adjustment and Appeals. <br /> <br />B.
