'Lhe meeti.ng ~oas <br />reconvened at 9:55 P.M. <br />P1rs. Scal.ze suggested that tlte C~i.ty approach Mr. Ceclca about r.enami_ng <br />his Sylvan Avenue. Scalze pointed out that in the minutes of Che <br />September, 19fl2 Council meeti.ng, Mr. Cecka i.ndicated that he was <br />willing to do this. <br />Mrs. Scalze pointed ouC that there are only three houses on tltat: <br />street and this should be done before there are any more. <br />Mr. P'ahey sugges[ed that the Ci.ty Attorney get a hold of rSr. Cectca <br />in thi.s re~;ard. <br />19f35 tdaT.er Mr. Glanaer suggested that the City's water rates be increased <br />S3udget from $1..20 to $1.30 per thousand gallons :in order to pass a7.ong <br />(Cont.) the increased pri.ce t}iat the City i.s receiving from the City of. <br />St. Paul. <br />Mr. Glanzer [urther. suggeste<t that if the rates were increased to <br />$7..35 per thous~nd gallons, thi.s would crea[e some revenue f.or the <br />City. <br />Mr. }3lesener explained that: there is about a$100,000 deficit and <br />Uy increasi.ng the r.ate to ~1.35 in about 3 or ~F years, the City <br />might get ri.d ot the defici.t. The City could also add $J. to the <br />wat:er availability charge per quarter. <br />PTr. Pahey as}ced why the Ci.ty's rates were this high. g~ger. Glanzer <br />repl.i.ed that these are the rates the City of St. Paul cl~arges <br />Little Canada. Glanz.er stated that St. Pau1 charges Roseville less <br />than this, but Rosevil.le has an exceptional. conCract with the City. <br />Glanzer sta[ec( tha[ St. Paul charges Little Canada 17.0% oL its rate. <br />The Council determined Chat the add:iti.onal 5 cents per thou5and <br />~allons woulct fi~ure to abouC $1.00 per quarter f.or a wa[er user. <br />Page -13- <br />
