Signed petitions can left at office, placed in office mailbox, or slid under inner office door by August 31, 2024
Overview — Little Canada Road E and Country Drive Reroute Project:
The City of Little Canada is considering a redesign and rebuild of Little Canada Road E and nearby Country Drive. This project could redirect parts of these roads
onto the property of Fleur Royale.
Under a design concept that has been publicly released by the city, a roundabout would be built on the southern part of Fleur Royale property. Country Drive,
currently running next to Interstate 35E (beside PORTERHOUSE Restaurant), would be rebuilt approximately 30 feet of the east side of the Fleur Royale building.
Additionally, a public walkway would be placed between the building and Country Drive.
IF THIS PROJECT IS APPROVED AS CURRENTLY CONCEPTUALIZED,
IT WILL NEGATIVELY IMPACT RESIDENTS OF FLEUR ROYALE IN SEVERAL WAYS:
- Increased noise from traffic (Country Drive daily traffic volume is 5,000 vehicles, and sees very heavy commercial trucking traffic)
- Higher risk of vehicle accidents near the building
- Headlights shining directly into living units on the east side
- Potentially lower property values
- Close proximity to harmful vehicle emissions (including carbon monoxide, carbon dioxide, hydrocarbons, nitrogen oxides, sulfur oxides)
- Potential danger to pedestrian traffic at roundabouts
- Loss of trees to the east and south
- Potential dangers and inconvenience when entering and exiting the parking lot, especially during rain and snow days
- Disruptions from construction
Please let your voice be known to the decision makers within the City of Little Canada:
We, the undersigned, oppose any efforts to rebuild Little Canada Road E and Country Drive in a manner that would jeopardize the safety, health, livability,
and financial wellness of the owners and residents of Fleur Royale Condominiums:
Printed Name
Signature
Unit #
Date
I C"ck
