Fahey pointed out that this is a continuation of a hearing <br />from a nrevious Council meeting. <br />The City l~ngineer reported that ~13°!~ of the propei°ty oa~rners involve<t <br />have petitioned for the improvement ofi Sylvan. The ~ngineer reported <br />tViat costs of the improvement rrported at ttie llugust 13, 19i35 meeting <br />u~ere estimates. I3ids svere ~aken on tne improvement and tha costs <br />based on tYie loo~ bid are $166.00 per front foot, or ~12,450 for a 75 <br />foot lot. Gstirnate<l costs reported at thr August 13 meeting ~,~ere <br />~1(33 per front foot. The !:ngineer reported that if Lake Street <br />~;rere vacated, there would be 120 feet of ad<19tional frontage to <br />assess bringinc~ the cost dob~n to $156 per front foot, or ~,11,700 <br />for a 75 foot 1 o C. <br />P%ir. Doug Day, 2540 Spruce Street, asked if the Engine~r considered <br />including this project i•~ith otnr_rs in the City in ord2r to brinq <br />costs clo~,m furtti~r. Th2 Cnqineer replied that this has been done <br />and the result is the cost reported, <br />Scalze pointed out tliat on ~ugust 13, t'ne cost for a 75 foot lot <br />svas reported at $13,736.
