MINUTES <br />City Council <br />Jan. 14, 1987 <br />Sick Leave Fahey pointed out that this would be covered under emergency leave <br />Policy or make-up leave. Sick leave would be use~ for what it is intended. <br />(Cont.) <br />The City Clerk reported that he and the Building Inspector and <br />Public Works Superintendent earn comp time. <br />Scalze stated that she agreed with Mr. Fahey's proposal as well as <br />the suggestions offered by Mr. Blesener. <br />Mr. LaValle reported that under Section 209.100 Martin Luther King's <br />Birthday should be added as a paid holiday. Lavalle also reported <br />that he has asked the City Attorney to look at Section 209.210 <br />to determined whether this section is in violation of State <br />Statute. <br />Fahey suggested that he prepare a revision of the ordinance <br />incorporating the changes that have been discussed for action <br />at the next Council meeting. <br />Bingo Mr. Ray f4asman, representing Little Canada Charitable Qingo, <br />appeared before the Council and presented the Council with a <br />Agenda financial report for the operation through November, 1986. <br />Addition <br />Mr. Fahey reported that the City has prepared some questions <br />it would like the Bingo Organization to respond to and suggested <br />that the questions be reviewed and discussed at the February 11 <br />Council meeting. <br />Fahey reported that the Council has heard concerns from Little <br />Canada citizens, as well as having its own concerns, that need <br />to be addressed with regard to Little Canada Charitable Bingo. <br />Mr. Blesener asked the relationship of Mr. Masman and Mr. Finnerty <br />to the bingo organization. <br />Masman replied that he is the Lions Club representative for Little <br />Canada Charitable Bingo. Mr. Finnerty is a distributer of supplies <br />to the Hall, but has nothing to do with the operation of bingo at <br />the Nall. <br />Finnerty stated that he is not the gambling manager at the hall. <br />Finnerty stated that he is allowed to act as a consultant to the <br />bingo operation and he does sell bingo supplies to Little Canada <br />Charitable Bingo. However, he does not work on the floor, nor does <br />he have anything to do with the books of the operation. <br />In discussing the financial report, Mr. Masman reported that <br />originally the Hall projected 7 nights of bingo per week as <br />well as attendance of 450 people at each bingo session. <br />Page -9- <br />
