MINUTES <br />City Council <br />Feb. 11, 1987 <br />Ramsey <br />County <br />Block <br />Grant <br />Agenda <br />Item No. 19 <br />Scalze reported that there have been preliminary discussions on <br />whether the City wants to participate in the construction of a <br />multi-purpose gymnasium at the Little Canada Elementary School. <br />Scalze reported that if the City participates, the size of the <br />gym can be increased to full-size and meeting rooms would be <br />added as well. <br />Scalze suggested that the City Clerk begin filling out application <br />forms for a Ramsey County Block Grant which could be used towards <br />the cost of the project. <br />The City Clerk pointed out that there is a March 31 deadline <br />for grant applications, and the City would need the final costs <br />of the project to include with the application. <br />Fahey suggested that after the workshop meeting on the 24th, the <br />City would have a better idea of costs. <br />Mrs. Scalze introduced the following reso1ution and moved its adoption: <br />RESOLUTION N0. 87-2-66 - AUTHORIZING THE <br />CITY CLERK TO BEGIN FILLING OUT THE APPROPRIATE <br />FORMS FOR A RAMSEY COUNTY BLOCK GRAMT PRIOR TO <br />OBTAINING ESTIMATES FOR CONSTRUCTION OF A <br />RECREATIONAL BUILDIMG IN PARTNERSHIP WITH THE <br />SCHOOL DISTRICT <br />Closing <br />Of Funds <br />Agenda <br />Addition <br />The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Mr. Blesener. <br />Ayes (5) Scalze, Blesener, Collova, Fahey, LaValle. <br />Nays (0). <br />Resolution declared adopted. <br />This resolution appears in Resolution Book No. 17, Page 69. <br />The City Clerk reported that the City Auditor has recommended the <br />closing of certain funds. <br />Mr. Fahey introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: <br />RESOLUTION N0. 87-2-67 - CLOSING THE <br />FIRE TRUCK ACQUISITION FUND AND TRANSFERRING <br />FUNDS TO THE GENERAL FUND; CLOSING THE COMPUTER <br />ACQUISITION FUND AND TRANSFERRING FUNDS TO THE <br />GENERAL FUND; AND CLOSING INTERIM FUNDS 401 AND <br />551 AND TRAPdSFERRING FUNDS TO THE GENERAL FUND, <br />SEWER FUND AND STORM SEWER ~UND AS OUTLI~JED IN <br />COUNCIL AGENDAS <br />The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Mr. LaValle. <br />Ayes (5) Fahey, LaValle, Scalze, Blesener, Collova. <br />Nays (0). <br />Resolution declared adopted. <br />This resolution appears in Resolution ~ook No. 17, Page 70. <br />Page -22- <br />
