In Mr. Franke's letter he
indicated that State Gambling Control Board has taken no action
regarding the authenticity of LCCB in the manner it has been
restructured as was indicated by D1r. Saari to the Council.
Fahey further reported that at the June 17 Council meeting Class A
charitable gambling licenses were approved for the lake Owasso
Residence Volunteer Council and the Roseville Youth Football Association
for one night per week for each organization. Also, St. Joseph's
Society was approved for a third night of bingo with the stipulation
that they would relinquish this third night to a City organization
if stach an organization is interested in applying and is approved
by the Council ~aithin the next 45 days.
Fahey reported that since that meeting he has been advised that the
Little Canada Fire Department is interested in applying as well as
the St. John's Church Parish Council expressing an interest. The
City has also received an application from the North Suburban DAC.
Fahey reported that it was unfortunate that these three organizations
did not have applications in prior to the June 17 meeting, as the
City's action may have been different.
However, Fahey reported that the Council will consider applications
from these organizations at its July 8 Regular Council P9eeting.
Fahey also reported that the four charities who have received
approval have asked that he announce that they are currently hiring
workers for the hall and if anyone is interested, they should apply.
The starting salary is $4.00 per hour with an increase to be considered
after 45 days.
~9orrison Fahey reported that the curbing installed in the P9orrison Avenue
Area area has been ground down at driveway entrances. The City Engineer
Curbing has agreed to pick up half of the cost of this work, as the problem
appears to be in the design of the curb. Fahey suggested that the
Agenda Gity pay the other half and that no cost be assessed against the
Item No. 14 property owners.
Blesener reported that the curbing installed on Sylvan Avenue is of
a different design than that installed in the Morrison Avenue area.
P1r. Blesener introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption:
RESOLUTION N0. 87-6-271
CUP.~3ING CORRECTIOPI WORK
- APPROVING THE
DONE IN THE MORRISON
Page -2-
