PIINUTES <br />City Council <br />July 8, 1987 <br />Minutes <br />Agenda <br />Item No. 3 <br />Mr. Blesener introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: <br />RESOLUTION N0. 87-7-303 - APPROVING THE <br />PIINUTES OF THE JUNE 24, 1987 REGULAR <br />COUNCIL MEETIMG AS SUBP4ITTED <br />The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Mr. Collova. <br />Ayes (4) Blesener, Collova, Scalze, LaValle. <br />Nays (0). <br />Resolution declared adopted. <br />This resolution appears in Resolution Book No. 18, Page 328. <br />Mr. Blesener introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: <br />RESOLUTION N0. 87-7-304 - APPROVING THE <br />MINUTES OF THE JUNE , 1987 WORKSHOP <br />MEETING AS SUBMITTED. <br />The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by P":r. LaValle. <br />Ayes (4) Blesener, LaValle, Scalze, Collova. <br />Plays (0). <br />Resolution declared adopted. <br />This resolution appears in Resolution Book No. 18, Page 329. <br />Recycling Mrs. Scalze reported that with regard to the recycling program started <br />in the City, while the City is trying to encourage recycling, it is <br />Agenda not a mandatory program. <br />Item No. 4 <br />Bingo Mrs. Scalze read into the record a letter dated July 7, 1987 received <br />from St. Joseph's Society and Servants of P1ary thanking the Council <br />Agenda for their assistance in getting the bingo operation running and outlining <br />Item No. 4 procedures and guidelinesunder which the charities at the bingo hall <br />are working. <br />Sound The City Engineer presented the Council with diagrams and cross-sections <br />Barrier of the proposed berm in the Highway Department right-of-way along Twin <br />Twin Lake Lake Trail. <br />Trail <br />The Engineer explained that the State has indicated that if the view <br />Agenda of the Highway could be blocked, this would lessen the noise in the <br />Item No. 5 area. Based on this statement, the City Engineer prepared cross-sections <br />for a berm that would be 20 feet high and would be higher than the <br />smoke-stacks of the semis that are traveling the highway. The City <br />Engineer pointed out that the State has prepared a plan for a berm, <br />however, their berm would be 8 to 10 feet high and would not resolve <br />the noise problem. <br />Page -2- <br />
