MINUTES <br />City Council <br />July 22, 1987 <br />Orr Fahey pointed out that Mr. Orr did not appear at the Planning <br />Property Commission meeting regarding his proposed property division, therefore, <br />Division the matter was tabled by the Commission. Fahey informed Orr that the <br />Council could not take action on his request until it had a recommendation <br />Agenda from the Planning Commission or until 60 days time lapsed. <br />Item No. 10 <br />Fahey informed Orr that his request would be considered at the second <br />Council meeting in August. <br />David The City Clerk reported that Mr. David Wright asked that his request <br />Wright be tabled until later in the meeting when he would be able to be <br />Property present. <br />Division <br />Agenda <br />Item ~lo. 11 <br />Noise Mr. Roy Nadeau, Jr. appeared before the Council and outlined a noise <br />Pollution pollution problem that he and other property owners in his area are <br />Roy Nadeau, experiencing due to 35E. Nadeau also outlined damage that was done <br />Jr. to Savage Lake when the freeway was put in as well as an increase <br />in the noise problem when a sound barrier was constructed on the <br />Agenda east side of the freeway. <br />Item No. 12 <br />Nadeau also outlined other problems with Little Canada Road that <br />were caused by the County. <br />Nadeau did not feel that Little Canada had to accept what the <br />Federal government, State and County were doing to it. Nadeau <br />felt that the Council needed to take some action to resolve some <br />of these problems. <br />Scalze pointed out that the State has indicated that it will not <br />erect sound barriers next to property that was developed after the <br />freeway was in. <br />Nadeau reported that his neighborhood was in existence prior to the <br />freeway. Nadeau also explained that the noise problem in greater in <br />this instance than others as the noise is traveling over a lake. <br />Nadeau again outlined the damage the State did to the lake and pointed <br />out that the freeway was originally two lanes wide, and a third lane <br />has been added. <br />Nadeau requested that someone do a decible reading of the noise <br />he gets on his property from the freeway. <br />Nadeau also informed the Council that the State is currently <br />constructing sound barriers. <br />S alze noted the State's actions with regard to Pleasant Avenue to <br />p~ease a group of people, and the results of these actions on <br />Little Canada. <br />Paae -13- <br />
