Bl esener• i ntr•oduced the fol l owi ng or•di nance and moved i ts adopti on: <br />ORDINANCE N0. 293 - AN ORDINANCE AMENDING <br />SECTION 903 OF THE LITTLE CANADA CITY CODE, <br />KNOWN AS THE LITTLE CANADA ZONING ORDINANCE <br />REGARDING TNE STRIPING AND CURBING OF PARKING <br />AREAS <br />The for•egoing or~dinance was duly seconded by Mr~. Collova. <br />Ayes (4) Blesener•, Collova, Scalze, Fahey. <br />Nays (0). <br />Or•di nance decl ar~ed adopted. <br />Col l ova r•epor•ted that he and Mr•. Bl esener• met wi th r•epr•esentati ves of the <br />School Distr~ict and discussed the possible pur•chase of Spooner• Park <br />pr~oper•ty by the City, possible City par~ticipation in the cost of an <br />addition to Little Canada Elementar•y School, and the futur•e of the <br />Capital View building. <br />Collova r~epor•ted that the School Distr•ict would like the City to make <br />an offer~ on the Spooner• Par•k pr~oper•ty. <br />Fahey suggested that the Council discuss this and establish an offer• <br />pr~ice. Fahey noted that the proper•ty has been appr~aised by both the <br />City and the School Distr•ict. <br />B1 esener• r•epor~ted that he i nfor~med the School Di str•i ct r~epr~esentati ves <br />that the City felt their• appr~aisal was the mor•e accur•ate one, noting <br />the sale pr•ice of industr•ial pr•oper•ty in the Center~ville Road ar•ea. <br />Bl esener~ noted that the Spooner• Par•k pr•oper•ty i s zoned r~esi denti al. <br />Fahey r•epor•ted that the City is inter•ested in pur•chasing 21.7 acr•es <br />of 1 and i n Spooner• Par•k. The Ci ty' s appr~ai sal for~ thi s pr~oper~ty i s <br />$22,000 per• acr•e. Fahey noted that Lar~r•y Lee r•ecently pur~chased <br />industrial property along Centerville Road for $20,000 per acre as <br />well as the pur•chase of industr•ial pr~oper•ty by the AIC Cor•por•ation <br />in this same pr•ice-r•ange. <br />Fahey fel t the val ue per• acr~e for• the Spooner• Par•k pr•oper•ty was 1 ess <br />than the City's appr•aised value. Fahey felt an offer~ should be made <br />for• less than the appr•aised value, and the City can include a letter• <br />justifying the offer~ amount. <br />Blesener~ r•epor~ted that the School Distr•ict is looking for~ a r•esponse <br />fr~om the City on all thr•ee issues within the next two to thr~ee weeks. <br />Collova reported that an architect has been hired to begin drawing <br />plans for• the addition to Little Canada School. <br />Blesener• r~epor~ted that the School Distr~ict would like to know if the <br />Page -8- <br />
