P1INUTES <br />City Council <br />June 22, 1988 <br />Home Shar~e RESOLUTION N0. 88-6-264 - ADVISING THE NOME <br />Pr•ogr•am SHARE PROGRAM THAT DUE TO LACK OF PLACEMENT <br />(Cont.) WITHIN THE CITY AND/OR BENEFIT TO THE CITY OF <br />LITTLE CANADA RESIDENTS, THE COUNCIL HEREBY <br />DECLINES TO PARTICIPATE FURTHER IN THE <br />HOME SHARE PROGRAM <br />The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Mr•s. Scalze. <br />Ayes (4) Fahey, Scalze, Collova, Blesener•. <br />Nays (0). <br />Resolution declared adopted. <br />This resolution appear~s in Resolution Qook No. 19, Page 269. <br />Voucher•s Mr•. Fahey intr•oduced the following r•esolution and moved its adoption: <br />Agenda RESOLUTION N0. 88-6-265 - APPROVING THE <br />Item No. 23b VOUCHERS <br />The for•egoing r•esolution was duly seconded by Mr. Blesener•. <br />Ayes (4) Fahey, Blesener, Scalze, Collova. <br />Nays (0). <br />Resolution declar~ed adopted. <br />This r•esolution appear•s in Resolution Book No. 19, Page 270. <br />City Scalze requested that Councilmember~s think ser~iously about a City <br />Newsletter newsletter stating that it was needed desper~ately. <br />Agenda Fahey suggested that this matter• be placed on the agenda of the next <br />Addition Council meeting. <br />Paper• Scalze r~epor•ted that she has r•eceived comments that the new paper• ballot <br />Ballots system the City is adopting is a step backwards. <br />Agenda The City Cler~k disagr•eed and explained the system which is being adopted <br />Addition by most cities within the County. The Cler~k also pointed out that par~ts <br />ar•e no longer~ available to r•epair the City's voting machines, and if <br />a City pur•chases new voting machines, the paper~ ballot system is the one <br />that must be pur•chased. <br />The Ci ty Cl er•k al so r•epor~ted that voti ng wi 11 go faster~ under~ the new <br />system. The City of Minneapolis has used this system for~ the last <br />few year•s and has indicated it is quicker•. <br />Blesener~ pointed out that the City will be able to have sever•al more <br />voting stations under the new system, and the ballots-r•eading machine <br />will pr~ocess ballots quickly. <br />Page -28- <br />
