WITHIN THE CITY AND/OR BENEFIT TO THE CITY OF LITTLE CANADA RESIDENTS, THE COUNCIL HEREBY DECLINES TO PARTICIPATE FURTHER IN THE HOME SHARE PROGRAM The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Mr•s. Scalze. Ayes (4) Fahey, Scalze, Collova, Blesener•. Nays (0). Resolution declared adopted. This resolution appear~s in Resolution Qook No. 19, Page 269. Voucher•s Mr•. Fahey intr•oduced the following r•esolution and moved its adoption: Agenda RESOLUTION N0. 88-6-265 - APPROVING THE Item No. 23b VOUCHERS The for•egoing r•esolution was duly seconded by Mr. Blesener•. Ayes (4) Fahey, Blesener, Scalze, Collova. Nays (0). Resolution declar~ed adopted. This r•esolution appear•s in Resolution Book No. 19, Page 270. City Scalze requested that Councilmember~s think ser~iously about a City Newsletter newsletter stating that it was needed desper~ately. Agenda Fahey suggested that this matter• be placed on the agenda of the next Addition Council meeting. Paper• Scalze r~epor•ted that she has r•eceived comments that the new paper• ballot Ballots system the City is adopting is a step backwards. Agenda The City Cler~k disagr•eed and explained the system which is being adopted Addition by most cities within the County. The Cler~k also pointed out that par~ts ar•e no longer~ available to r•epair the City's voting machines, and if a City pur•chases new voting machines, the paper~ ballot system is the one that must be pur•chased. The Ci ty Cl er•k al so r•epor~ted that voti ng wi 11 go faster~ under~ the new system. The City of Minneapolis has used this system for~ the last few year•s and has indicated it is quicker•. Blesener~ pointed out that the City will be able to have sever•al more voting stations under the new system, and the ballots-r•eading machine will pr~ocess ballots quickly. Page -28-
