Pranl: Graczyk appeared before the Council er,plaining the <br /> Proposed Budget, A new item was added to the Budget - <br /> flazardous hlaterials 51,200.00, t~Sr. Graczyk mentioned tha~ <br /> at present the Department is pursuing a program ~aith the <br /> City of St, Paul and eventually the program will be under <br /> the County. <br /> Proposed 1989 t3udget: Pire Dept. 594,175.00 <br /> Pension .19,500,00 <br /> Other 3~.00 <br /> Total 5113,719,00 <br />Recrea4:ion P•9r. Dlorelan appeared concerning the parks and recreation <br /> budget. The Proposed Recreation Budget is 567,010. The <br /> year-to-date column indicated an expense of 59,939. It was <br /> explained to the Council that that was the expenditure for <br /> ~he "Summer Camp Prograrn", t4r. P9orelan mentioned that nex~ <br /> year the program may be £unded entirely by the North <br /> Suburban Xouth Association. <br />Parks The 19II9 Proposed Parks I3udget is $33,150. There were some <br /> concerns over the Secretary's salary, This matter should be <br /> checked, tflrs, Scalze submitted an eYplanation of the Parles <br /> CIP t3udget: <br /> Centerville Road 5160,000.00 <br /> 4Vestwind 15,000.00 <br /> Gervais Y~Iill 22,000.00 <br /> Spooner Park* 7,000.00 <br /> Landscaping all parks 10,000.00 <br /> Thunder Bay 6,000.00 <br /> *Zncludes some improvement Eor Canadian Days <br />Fire R~1r. Palacio appeared before the Council explaining the <br />f•larshall various parts of his budget. His proposed salary increase <br /> is at 9~. The Proposed Buclget is 54,225,00, There were <br /> changes in Conferences and Schools from 5200 to 5500, ~3ooks <br /> frorn ,00 to $500. <br /> P7r. Palacio submitted a salary report pertaininc~ to Fire <br /> P4arshalls' wages in other communities. The Council came to <br /> the conclusion that his salary should be increased to 6ae <br />Performance The Council then proceeded to discuss the idea of <br />Standard performance standards. A ho salary L-or a person receiving <br /> 540,000 is far more than persons receiving 530,000, Some <br /> members were in favor of performance standard. <br />Page 2 <br />
