Pflr, Pahey stated that the <br />Committee wanted multiple family units included in the <br />proposal. <br />~4r. Blesener indicated that an ordinance could be passec~ <br />requiring the current haulers of the multiple family units <br />to begin pickiny up recyc].ables. P4rs. Tipler indicated that <br />she did not see a problem ~aith this. <br />ri1r. Larry Neilson, an At~orney for Bellaire, appeared before <br />the Council to let them Icnow that there are points to be <br />negotiated in the contract. C-7r, Neilson indicated that he <br />F~ould li.ke to meet with someone from the Council on the <br />proposed contract, t~r, Neilson stated that he would lik~ a <br />resolution of direction L-rom the Council. <br />P4r, Dick E3oss, business ovmer in the City, appEared beEore <br />the Council stating that recently Super Cycle refused to <br />~ickup his business' recyclables. i~lr. Boss ~elt that if the <br />City did pick up commercial recyclables, their tonnage ~aould <br />be increased by a considerable amount. P~ir> Boss felt that <br />it was a waste to have fo clump all of his business' waste <br />~ahen it could be recycled. <br />P~rs, Scalze aslced if the businesses pay Eor recycling on <br />their property taxes like residents do. Mrs. Scalze felt <br />that if they did, they should have recycling available to <br />them a1so. <br />Page -8- <br />
