P-linutes <br />City Council <br />MMay 29, 1~II9 <br />Dawn Inman AYr. Fahey indicated that the Council has received a request <br />for a donation from the City from Dawn Inman. Dawn is a <br />Agenda senior at Roseville Hiyh School and has been chosen to be a <br />Addition United States Stuclent Ambassador to Russia, The trip ~oill <br />cost about 54,000 and Dawn must raise her own funcling. <br />Mr. Fahey asked Nir. Sweeney if the City could legally use <br />public funds for this purpose. Mrs. Scalze was under the <br />impression that the City cannot donate money to an <br />individual. Mr, S~aeeney also felt that public funds coulcl <br />not be used in this situation, <br />Mr. LaVa11e felt that the Council should mafce a request on <br />behalf of Little Canada to the North Suburban Xouth <br />1lssociation for Dawn, e9r, LaVa11e felt that this was <br />related to youth activities. <br />NIrs. Scalze sta~ed ~hat Dawn should approach the North <br />Suburban Xouth Association on her o4m. Mr. Fahey stated <br />that the Council could endorse her request. P•1r, Pahey <br />indicated that the City could give her a letter containing <br />the endorsement, <br />AZr.
